 Bowater- Washer Vat Removal- Wire Sawing, Wall Sawing, Core DrillingThis project was a combination of wire sawing, wall sawing and core drilling at the Bowater Pulp and Paper mill in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The existing concrete washer vat 25b was cut into sections and removed with the use of an overhead crane. Concrete cutting allowed for a new fiberglass washer vat to be set in place with little concrete repair work and no structural damage. Work was performed during a mill shutdown for EKT 90 Inc. Crews worked multiple saws around the clock to meet the aggressive schedule. |

 Bowater- Wall Sawing at Water OutfallWall Sawing was used to remove this 10,000lbs suspended concrete slab. Given the depth of the slab and the lack of access to the underside, concrete cutting was ideal. The perimeter of the slab was cut along the top of the foundation wall and the slab was hoist in one piece. |
